The crown jewel of Gulf fishing. Federal season typically runs June through July -- a short window that draws anglers from all over the country. Sweet, firm white meat that's worth the wait.
Fast, aggressive, and a blast to catch. Kings are a favorite among sport fishermen for their powerful runs and aerial acrobatics. Available most of the year, peaking in spring and fall.
Brilliantly colored and incredibly fun to reel in. Mahi-Mahi are found offshore around weed lines and floating debris. Great eating and a favorite catch for deep-sea trips in the summer months.
Known as "reef donkeys" for their brute strength. Amberjack fight hard all the way to the boat, making them a favorite for anglers looking for a real battle. Found around offshore wrecks and reefs.
Often overlooked but one of the best-tasting fish in the Gulf. Triggerfish have a clean, mild flavor that rivals any snapper. Tricky to hook thanks to their small mouths and strong teeth.
A spring migration favorite. Cobia cruise near the surface along the coast from March through May, making them a sight-fishing thrill. Excellent table fare with firm, white meat.
World-class fishing right out your back door. Imagine heading offshore on a Saturday morning and being home by lunch. That's life on Alabama's Gulf Coast.
